Softball won out over tennis for two-sport varsity athlete Courtney Rosen of Sugar Land. Following in the “cleats” of her sister Jorden, who plays softball for Syracuse, this Clements High School senior has committed to play for Florida State University.
Seminoles head coach JoAnne Graf has expressed her excitement at the “addition of such a solid, well-rounded player” to their program.
Courtney is one of four sisters and has lived in Fort Bend County all her life. She began her softball career with the Missouri City Magic at the age of seven. Coached by her father, Rocket Rosen, her team has traveled throughout the U.S. winning numerous state and regional championships. Currently, she is playing 3rd base for the Clements Rangers as they enter the 2006 5-A playoffs.
Upon graduation she will resume playing and traveling with Magic Gold until it’s time to change into a new uniform as an FSU Seminole. Courtney is about as anxious as Coach Louie, who stated, “I can’t wait to get that little firecracker on the field!”
