The Sugar Land Fire Department and the Exchange Club of Sugar Land will be installing free smoke alarms on Saturday, May 6 in the Chimneystone and Brookside Belknap neighborhoods.
The activity is expected to complete a smoke alarm drive that was initiated in these neighborhoods last year.
“We plan to walk door-to-door installing battery-operated smoke alarms at no charge, reminding citizens to change batteries in existing alarms and answering questions about fire prevention,” said Sugar Land Fire Captain Mike McLemore.
