Shane Sklar is a native born Texan who would like to represent the voters who reside in district 14, not Libertarians who live in California, Florida, Illinois, and elsewhere.
Ron Paul dupes Texas voters. For example, he votes against hurricane relief for Texans (HR 4939). After voting “No,”, he issues press releases (6-13-06) and posts comments on his website trying to give the impression that he voted “Yes.” This is blatantly hypocritical.
Paul is forced into this hypocrisy because there is a conflict between the interests of the voters in district 14 and the values of his Libertarian soul-mates who send him 93 percent of his individual campaign contributions. That’s right, only 7 percent of such contributions come from persons who reside in district 14 (based on analysis of Federal Elections Commission data).
Ron Paul gives the excuse that he “votes his principles”, which can be admired. But his “principles” just happen to coincide with those of his Libertarian contributors, the vast majority of whom don’t even live in Texas. He then uses those contributions to run advertisements and buy billboard space to convince you that he is “The Taxpayers’ Best Friend.”
The jig is up. Vote for Shane Sklar.
