LCISD Seeks Volunteer Judges For High School Debate Tourney

Lamar Consolidated High School is looking for a few good judges. The school’s speech/debate and theater programs are hosting a competitive speech and debate tournament the weekend of Dec. 8-9. However, volunteer judges still are needed for the contest.

“Many political leaders, lawyers, actors and television performers
began their careers by performing in front of parents and teachers at
speech and drama tournaments as members of high school forensics
programs,” Lamar Consolidated Independent School District said in a recent news release. “Competitors and coaches understand the benefits of speaking and performing for audiences at a young age.

“This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of a large number of students.”

Volunteer judges will be offered training at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the high school library, the district said.

Anyone interested in serving as a judge or otherwise helping with the debate tournament is asked to respond by email to or , or call Aufdembrink or Hill at 832-223-3137.
