Northbound Traffic To Be Detoured At U.S. 59 and Crabb River Road

Traffic may be heavy as U.S. 59 northbound lanes will be closed near Crabb River Road in the Greatwood area each evening for most of this week.

The Texas Department of Transportation is planning to close the northbound lanes of U.S. 59 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday, according to information from the City of Sugar Land.

Northbound motorists will be detoured onto the frontage road at the Crabb River Road/F.M. 2759 exit. Traffic will be routed along the frontage road until the next available entrance ramp, near the Brazos River.

All lanes will be open during peak traffic times, but officials caution motorists to expect slow traffic and possible delays.
