Following federal and state recognition of a national day of mourning honoring the memory of former President Gerald R. Ford, Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert has announced that county offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
According to an announcement from Hebert’s office, county employees will be excused from scheduled work duties on Tuesday, except for those “who in the judgment of the head of the department cannot be excused for reasons of county security, or other essential public business.”
Also, the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 3.
