Braun Named Emergency Manager Of The Year

Fort Bend County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Braun has been named Emergency Manager of the Year by the Emergency Managers Association of Texas.

Braun received the award recently during the State Homeland Security Conference held in San Antonio. He received the honor from the Emergency Managers Association of Texas, a statewide organization of members who serve in the fields of emergency management, civil defense, or emergency preparedness.

According to EMAT, Braun received this award as a result of his leadership in developing a highly effective emergency management program using innovative and creative initiatives that have enhanced not only the local emergency management program, but also regional efforts.

“Jeff’s dedication and professionalism has not been lost on us, but it’s nice to see his peers across Texas take note of his quality performance in emergency management,” said Fort Bend County Judge Robert Hebert.

Jeff Braun was appointed as the county’s emergency management coordinator in December 2003. During his tenure, Braun has upgraded the County’s emergency management program through a three-fold strategy focusing on networking, developing partnerships and effective grants management.

Prior to his appointment as emergency management coordinator, Braun served as Rosenberg city manager.
