A Richmond woman was convicted Wednesday for breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s house and holding a woman and her 3-year-old son hostage in November 2005.
Kizzy Tennille Williams, 29, a former prison guard, broke into her former boyfriend’s house in the middle of the night “with the intent to assault him and others,” said Assistant Fort Bend County District Attorney Celena Vinson, who prosecuted the case.
According to the district attorney’s office, the hostage situation ended when police arrived and arrested Williams.
Vinson said testimony at trial revealed that Williams “displayed knives” and ordered people in the house to stay in a bedroom.
“The defendant claimed she lived at the residence,” Vinson said, “but offered no proof other than her word that she lived there. The evidence not only failed to support her testimony, but actually contradicted it.”
Williams was found guilty of burglary of a habitation, by a 268th District Court jury. Visiting Judge Larry Wagenbach tried the case and sentenced Williams to 30 days in the county jail, six years’ probation and a $1,000 fine. The charge against Williams was burglary of a habitation, which could have netted Williams 2-20 years in prison.
