Richmond police officers have arrested five men over the past few days on charges of selling drugs, the police department said in a statement Wednesday.
The department said more drug-related arrests are pending.
The five men most recently arrested, all from Richmond and all indicted by a Fort Bend County grand jury for selling powder and crack cocaine in the city, include:
→ John Arthur Jimenez, 29, arrested on two counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, a third-degree felony;
→ James Coffman, Jr., 31, arrested for Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, a second-degree felony;
→ Abrh Chandrell Flora, 20, Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, a third-degree felony;
→ Larry Gomez, 31, Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, a third-degree felony;
→ Israel Maximillano Lopez, 26, Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug-Free Zone, a second degree felony.
A police spokesman said the difference between the severity of a second-degree and third-degree felony “refers to the amount of narcotics being sold at the time of the undercover transaction.”
“The Richmond Police Department is continuing efforts of controlling unwanted drug activity in the city,” the department statement said. “There will be even more indictments in the very near future.”
