Teams from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and the Sugar Land Police Officers’ Association will square off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1 in the Fort Bend Holiday Bowl football game.
The friendly annual athletic contest is designed to boost the collection of toys in support of the Toys for Tots Holiday Drive.
The Holiday Bowl will be held Old Kempner Stadium at Seventh and Wood streets in Sugar Land. Gates open at noon, and kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Admission to the game is one new, unwrapped toy per person.
Participating in the effort are Amegy Bank, First Colony Mall, Republic Harley Davidson, the Harley Owners’ Group (HOG), Sugar Land Police Officers’ Association and the Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association.
“Toys for Tots has been a longtime charity for the Sugar Land Police Officers’ Association,” said Todd Zettlemoyer, President of the Association. “We support every effort to help enrich a child’s life, and we see every day the impact a kindness can mean to a child. It’s an important event for the children – and for the Deputy Sheriff’s Association to learn who’s really best on the football field.”
Rain date for the Holiday Bowl is Saturday, December 8 at the same time and venue.
