Academy Helps FBISD Students Return To School In Style

Thirty lucky Fort Bend ISD students recently received a free shopping spree at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Pearland, just in time for the new school year.

Through Academy’s “Adopt a Class” program, five students from six campuses on the district’s east side, including Blue Ridge, Briargate, Ridgegate, and Ridgemont elementary schools and McAuliffe and Missouri City middle schools, each received two school uniform tops and bottoms, a backpack, a pack of socks, a pair of tennis shoes and a belt.

Store director Rey Mendiola said it was Academy’s way of help students get a good start on the new school year.

“At Academy, we know that a new school uniform can make all the difference to a child who needs one at the start of the school year,” Mendiola said. “We’re glad to help out some of our local parents at back-to-school time and give the kids a chance to take a fun shopping spree while we’re at it.”
