Investigation Into Olson Vote Fraud Complaint Still Active

Even as he prepared to take the oath of office to become Texas’ newest congressman, Pete Olson remained the target of an investigation into a voting fraud complaint filed during the heat of the District 22 race.

Olson was sworn in with the rest of the 111th Congress earlier today, becoming the only new congressman from Texas.

During the Nov. 4 election, Olson defeated Nick Lampson, who served one term representing the 22nd Congressional District of Texas previously held by long-time political powerhouse Tom Delay. Lampson also served as congressman for the 9th Congressional District of Texas from 1997 – 2005.

Last October, the Lone Star Project, a D.C.-based political action committee, filed a complaint seeking felony charges against Olson for allegedly voting in both Virginia and Connecticut.

In the complaint, Lone Star Project Director Matt Angle said Olson had violated several sections of the Virginia criminal code by voting in an election in Connecticut while also remaining an active registered voter in Virginia.

Olson was living in Annandale, Va. while working on the staff of U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in Washington, D.C., but voted in a special election in Newtown, Conn., where his parents, Richard and Mary Olson, lived, the complaint said.

A spokesman for Fairfax County, Va., Prosecutor Raymond Morrogh said the outcome of the election had no bearing on the matter, and the complaint remains under active investigation.

Unlike many district attorneys in Texas, the Fairfax County Prosecutors Office does not have its own investigative staff. They instead turn such complaints over to a law enforcement agency for additional investigation.

The findings of the investigation are then returned to the prosecutor’s office for review.

It is uncertain when the investigation will be completed.

    H.R. 36 — passed

Congressman Olson: Congratulations on your new oath of office. It’s quite obvious you have great pride in your voting constituents back in Texas District 22– now that the election is over, it would seem the persistence to fraud allegation in Fairfax County, VA would appear to be mute at this point. Why do you feel The Lone Star Project, [The Political Action Committee behind this alleged voter fraud charge] continues to pursue you?

Which law enforcement agency is investigating it? Are they that busy up there that it would take this long?

while that may be a fact Mega the agenda may be to keep this pending as long as possible to keep Pete in the negative news. Some view politics as a career and put the country’s best interests second to their political agenda.
The end results justify the means.

Should be named the Witch Hunt Project. He was on a plane at the time he was allegedly voting. HELLO??

It feels good to have someone that will represent the majority of voters again. btw for the record Fairfax Cty election officials went to the county jail and registered potential voters while a cty official tryed to stop military ballots from being counted. I’m not surprised by anything that happens there.
