Rosenberg Police Bust 74-year-old Man, 3 Others On Drug Charges

A 74-year-old man and three other Rosenberg residents were arrested Tuesday on drug charges, the Rosenberg Police Department said in a statement issued Wednesday.

Leroy “Bubba” Bell, 74, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance after police obtained a warrant and searched Bell’s residence, the department statement said. Bell’s address wasn’t immediately available. Nor was information on the type of drug he was accused of delivering.

Also arrested at Bell’s home was Opal Matthews, 50, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; Robert Baker, 60, for possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free school zone; and Jeffrey Dixson, 43, also charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free school zone.

The four were taken to Rosenberg jail and later transported to Fort Bend County Jail in Richmond.
