Rosenberg Police Believe Same Burglar Broke Into Two Schools and LCISD Natatorium

Rosenberg police are searching for a man they believe recently broke into two schools and the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District’s natatorium.

The most recent burglary occurred Monday at about 2 a.m., when the suspect broke into Terry High School and “rummaged through several rooms throughout the building, breaking windows in classrooms and offices along the way,” a Rosenberg Police Department report said.

The burglar caused “extensive damage” to a coin-operated copy machine and to numerous cabinets throughout the building. He also made off with two Dell laptop computers; an external hard drive; a briefcase; a cordless power tool kit including drill bits, wrenches, a screwdriver and hammer; and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Security camera photos show the suspect is a black man, who at the time was wearing a plaid jacket, white shirt and khaki pants.

Security camera photos from George Junior High School show images of what appears to be the same man.

On Dec. 27, he entered that building and “roamed through the counselor’s office, the science classroom, a file room and the library” on the building’s second floor, the police department said.

“It is believed that the suspect was looking for money and candy,” the police report said. “The suspect rummaged through several drawers and rooms that contained several valuable items that were left undisturbed. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken from the library. The total amount of items damaged and stolen is unknown at this time.”

The break-in at the LCISD natatorium occurred Dec. 18. Police said a cordless drill and sander and about $115 in cash was stolen in that burglary. Police also said they were able to obtain a shoe print from the scene.

Anyone with information about any of the break-ins or the suspect is asked to call Rosenberg Police Sgt. Bryan Leach at 832-595-3728, or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-8477.
