Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) has landed an appointment to a key subcommittee that determines the future of NASA.
The freshman congressman was named yesterday as ranking member on the House Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee. As ranking member, Olson will be the highest ranking Republican on the subcommittee.
The Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee has oversight responsibility for NASA and its components, including the Johnson Space Center. The subcommittee works under the House Science and Technology Committee.
Olson said keeping NASA flying should be a “national priority.”
“Ensuring NASA remains fully funded and flying should be a national priority. I look forward to working with the leaders in Congress and the new administration to keep the commitments to the men and women of our space program,” Olson said.
Since Democrats control the House of Representatives, a Democrat will be named to chair the subcommittee. That person has not yet been selected.
Olson ousted incumbent Democrat Nick Lampson during last November’s election. Lampson also served on the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee.
Olson’s 22nd Congressional District includes much of Fort Bend County and parts of the Katy area.

Go Pete,
When handing out contracts remember the people that voted for you. There are plenty of good companies right here in FB county. Good luck, and God bless you.
Loving it…!? O’my Precious Pete “Yesss..”
It’s an “Endeavor” you wish ya never mist.
Echoing inquiries “Where have I been?”, adventured into exquisite wandering thoughts at my son’s school Science function last evening. It was my honor and privilege to cheer on “lucky stars” like Pete.
“Olson ousted incumbent Democrat Nick Lampson during last November’s election”…gotta luv it…..hahaha
Oh !!!!!! What a joke…..
