The St. Laurence Catholic School varsity tennis team recently advanced to the state playoffs at John Newcombe’s Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels.

They finished fourth out of 16 teams.
The team went to the playoffs as the representative of the Southwest Texas division after winning their division in the Southwest Houston Junior Team Tennis Flight A, 14 and under intermediate.
The state playoffs were held Nov. 15-16. St. Laurence was among sixteen teams in their flight from across the state.
Coached by Steve Bain and Marie Brown, the team included Alex Bain, Patrick Brown, Drew Fontenot, Christy Luspo, Christina Pizzitola and Courtney Russell.
The team finished in fourth place out of the sixteen teams.
