Police arrested a Missouri City man Wednesday after observing him standing next to the open door of his car with a plastic bag containing what turned out to be marijuana sticking out of his pocket.
Alvin J. Jackson, 19, was arrested, charged with possession of marijuana and transported to Fort Bend County Jail in Richmond.
According to a police report, a resident called the Missouri City Police Department about a “suspicious person” in a silver Chrysler passenger car parked near the intersection of Twining Oaks and Willow Mill Wednesday at about 12:35 p.m. The resident called back to say the car had moved to Bent Oak Lane near Whispering Pines.
When a patrol officer arrived, he observed a man standing near the open driver’s side door of the Chrysler with his hands in his pants pockets, a police spokesman said.
When the officer asked the man to take his hands out of his pockets, the officer then noticed a clear plastic baggy sticking part-way out of one of the pockets, the spokesman said. The officer then asked for the baggy and found what later proved to be marijuana inside. At that point the man, identified as Jackson, was placed under arrest.
