Robert Wayne Fort, 59, of Fort Bend County’s Townewest community, is in Fort Bend County Jail under $300,000 bond after being arrested on Dec. 23, 2008 on sexual assault charges.

Fort, who also is known as Robin, was charged in connection with a Dec. 17, 2008, incident in which several children under the age of 8 were allegedly sexually assaulted, the sheriff’s office said.

“During the course of this investigation, Fort Bend detectives obtained a confession from Fort admitting to the sexual assault of several children in addition to exposing himself,” the sheriff’s office said. As a result, two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and four counts of indecency with a child have been filed with the county District Attorney’s Office.

Sheriff’s detectives said they “believe there may be other child victims,” and are encouraging anyone who may have been in contact with Fort to contact the sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division at 281-341-4685, or the dispatch center at 281-341-4665.

Dectives said Fort and his wife provided babysitting services for children, in their Townewest home. They also identified Fort as a former teacher for Alief Independent School District, who has been involved in the Boy Scouts and a youth ministry. More recently, they said, he was a floor manager for a major department store at First Colony Mall.
