To help local gardeners get ready for spring, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Missouri City Branch Library will present an exhibit of gardening books, tools and resources throughout the month of March.
Books, magazines, videos and computer programs are available to provide ideas for many types of gardening in the South – from vegetable and fruit gardening to bird and butterfly gardening.
Laura Martin’s book “Texas Gardening” provides expert-tested recommendations for flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees and grasses that have proven to grow well in the Texas climate. Sol Meltzer offers advice on growing herbs in his book “Herb Gardening in Texas.”
The organic gardener may like Paul Tukey’s “The Organic Lawn Care Manual: A Natural, Low-maintenance System for a Beautiful, Safe Lawn” or Howard Garrett’s “Texas Organic Vegetable Gardening.” Welcome colorful guests to your garden with Geyata Ajilvsgi’s book “Butterfly Gardening for the South.”
The exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours.
