The staff at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Sugar Land Branch Library is inviting are residents to join them for a giggle, a laugh or a chuckle or two as they celebrate International Mirth Month in March with a display of some of the library’s most light-hearted books and movies.
Library patrons can re-live the comic genius of legendary comedians Bob Hope or Sid Caesar – men whose sense of the absurd served as inspiration for later shows like Monty Python’s Flying Circus and Saturday Night Live.
They can also check out Bob Newhart’s memoir, “I Shouldn’t Be Doing This!,” in which he tells anecdotes from throughout his life and career.
From practical jokes and riddles to cartooning and comic books, visitors to the library can discover a smile lurking just around the corner.
The collection will be on display throughout the months of March and April, and can be viewed during regular library hours.
