Checking blood pressure or diagnosing sleep disorders may not be traditional ways to party, but Missouri City will be celebrating good health with a “Health Fiesta” on May 20.
Vendors are being invited to help Missouri City residents have fun while getting up-to-date information on healthy living at the city’s sixth annual Community Health Fair.
The health fair is being presented in partnership with State Sen. Rodney Ellis and Congressman Al Green’s offices.
The event, offered with a “fiesta” theme this year, will be held from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Missouri City Community Center next to city hall.
The free public fair will provide an opportunity for residents to learn the latest ways to improve their well-being. Visitors will be able to enjoy healthy snacks, win door prizes and receive health screenings on everything from vision to spinal alignment. Those attending will also be able to talk to experts on Medicare, long-term care options and other health-related issues.
The city is still accepting vendors for the health fair, which drew more than 300 attendees last year. Any vendor with business associated with health products, health testing, health insurance, fitness, aging services or healthy lifestyle management is welcome to apply for a booth.
“Missouri City wants to help everyone in the community achieve healthy, whole lifestyles,” said Jennifer Milam, the city’s recreation specialist. “This health fair is one way the city strives to assist residents in their efforts to take the best care of themselves and their loved ones.”
Vendor applications are available on the city’s website, www.missouricitytx.gov, under “Upcoming Events.”
