Postal Inspectors Seek Public’s Help Solving Beasley Post Office Robbery

U.S. Postal Service investigators are asking the public for help solving an armed robbery at the Beasley Post Office.

In a statement Thursday, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said a driver had come to the post office, at 7031 Loop 540 in Beasley, at 6 p.m. Saturday when the robbery occurred.

The 57-year-old postal worker loaded his truck with end-of-the-day mail when “he was approached by an armed suspect who placed an unknown type gun to his back and threatened his life if he turned around,” the sheriff’s statement said.

The suspect robbed the postal worker of personal property and an undisclosed amount of cash taken from the post office.

“Using the post office keys, he then locked the victim inside a small entryway of the post office and immediately fled the area,” the sheriff’s statement said.

The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches and weighing 180 pounds. He has a medium build, black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white collarless shirt and khaki pants, the sheriff’s office said.

A year ago, would-be burglars broke into another western Fort Bend County post office, this one in Kendleton, but were unsuccessful in an attempt to open a safe there.
