A man trying to repossess three vehicles from a Missouri City couple told police one of the owners purposely pinned him between her car and his, injuring his knee.
Regina Hayes, who lives in the 1800 block of Timber Creek Drive, was not charged in the Friday morning incident, but a Missouri City Police Department spokesman said the aggravated assault case probably will be referred to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office.
According to a police report, Lee Calloway of Prolific Financial Adjusters drove with another “recovery agent” to the Hayes home at about 7:40 a.m. – the location of three vehicles on which owed payments were not being made.
When the two men pulled into the Hayes’ driveway, a woman later identified as Mrs. Hayes was sitting in her car, facing the repossession agents’ vehicle.
Calloway told police he got out of his vehicle to talk to her about why they were there.
“Mrs. Hayes looked directly at Mr. Calloway and started laughing,” a police spokesman said. “Then she floored her vehicle.”
Calloway told patrol officers who arrived at the scene that the woman pinned him between his vehicle and hers, purposely striking him in the left knee. The officers said they observed that the knee had begun to swell.
Calloway said he wanted to press charges, and the case was referred to detectives for further investigation.
