A Fort Bend County Sheriff’s sergeant corralled two men inside a convenience store early this morning, apparently in the process of burglarizing the business.
Sandro Patino, 26, and Aaron Salazar, 27, both of Houston, both were arrested and are incarcerated in Fort Bend County Jail in Richmond, a sheriff’s office statement said.
The incident began at 12:29 a.m., when sheriff’s Sgt. B. Marcus was driving east on West Airport Boulevard near Old Richmond Road north of Sugar Land.
As he passed, he saw someone standing near the front door of the Oaklake Country Conoco store, the sheriff’s statement said.
Realizing the store was closed for the night, he looked back and saw a window had been broken. Marcus then called the sheriff’s office for back-up, for an apparent burglary in progress, the sheriff’s statement said.
When Marcus approached the front door, he found Patino and Salazar inside the store.
“Caught in the act, Sgt. Marcus ordered them both to lie on the ground until back-up could arrive,” the sheriff’s office said. Both were taken into custody without incident.
