Sugar Land Council Approves $1.3 Million Beautification Project

The Sugar Land City Council has approved a $1.3 million contract with Bio Landscape and Maintenance for landscaping improvements along Highway 90A and State Highway 6.

Planned improvements for the two thoroughfares include trees and shrubs similar to the plantings along U.S. Highway 59.

The Highway 6 project will include areas from Brooks Street to the Sugar Land Regional Airport. The 90A landscaping will extend from U.S. 59 to just west of Highway 6.

The project will also include irrigation and an additional $36,600 for the widening of a pedestrian sidewalk from Lombardy to Dairy Ashford. The sidewalk will be widened from six to eight feet.

All of the work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
