Andres Novoa, owner of LaCocina Mexican Restaurant has presented a check for more than $21,000 to Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels following the restaurant’s Fourth Annual Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser.

The year’s event, which took place May 2, raised a total of $21,154 for Meals on Wheels.
Over the four years of the event, Novoa has been able to donate more than $60,000 to help feed seniors in Fort Bend County.
“We are fortunate to live in a community where giving back is a standard,” Novoa said. “Hosting this annual event is my way of supporting the individuals who made Fort Bend County what it is today.”
Fort Bend Seniors provides Meals on Wheels services to over 800 seniors daily from seven site locations throughout Fort Bend County and one site in Waller County.
Fort Bend Seniors is the only organization that provides Meals on Wheels to all persons over 60 years of age regardless of income. Client statistics have shown that 85 percent of the agency’s clients live at or below the poverty level.
