George Memorial Library Offering Typing Basics Program In June

Beginning typists, or people unfamiliar with a computer keyboard, are invited to attend an introductory class on basic typing skills at Richmond’s George Memorial Library throughout June.

The class will be repeated every Monday in June, beginning at 9 a.m. in the learning lab in the adult services department of the library.

It is not necessary to attend more than one session.

A member of the adult services staff will teach correct finger placement and basic typing skills in a small-group setting, using the Mavis Beacon typing-tutorial software on the computer.

The class is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited and reservations are required.

To register online at the library’s website, www.fortbend.lib.tx.us, click on “calendar” and find the program.

Participants may also register in person or by calling the library at 281-341-2604.
