Updated: A computerized ticket writer, lost over the weekend by a Richmond Police Department officer, has been returned, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.
On Monday the department offered a $50 reward for return of the device.
The computer device is used by patrol officers to issue citations or warnings to speeders and for other traffic violations.
“One of the department’s computerized ticket writers was lost this weekend as an officer was leaving a traffic stop,” the department said in a statement issued Monday. “The hand-held computer is useless to the general public…”
