Crime Reports

A George Ranch Historical Park employee has been arrested for theft, after allegedly stealing and pawning several historical items.

Robert Leon Hurley, 48, of the Richmond area, was arrested on theft charges and transported to Fort Bend County Jail on $2,500 bond, according to a sheriff’s report.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Terriann Carleson said the theft was reported by the George Ranch Museum Association and took place at the park, at 10215 F.M. 762.

Detectives found Hurley stole and pawned three black-powder rifles, a chain saw and “numerous” other items with a total value of about $18,000, Carleson said.

Detectives then arrested Hurley after obtaining a warrant signed by 400th District Judge Clifford Vacek.
