Ground Broken For New Cardia Catheterization Lab At Memoriall Hermann Sugar Land

Officials broke ground Tuesday at the site of what will become a $5.7 million cardiac catheterization lab at Mermorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital.

Expected to open in December, the new facility will include five pre- and post-operating rooms and two interventional labs.

the lab will initially perform diagnostic procedures such as cardiac catherizations and peripheral angiographies, said hospital Cief Executive Officer Jim Brown. In 2010, the lab will perform interventional cardiology and vascular procedures working in association with the Heart & Vascular Center at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
