Fort Bend Seniors Issues Appeal For Fans To Aid Area Senior Citizens

To help area seniors cope with the high temperatures this summer, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels is making a plea to the public for new or gently-used oscillating or boxed fans.

Cash donations to purchase fans are also being accepted.

Approximately 150 seniors are currently in need of the fans.

Fort Bend Seniors CEO Manuela Arroyos said seniors are among those most affected by the hot weather.

“Many of our seniors either don’t have air conditioning or are too afraid to turn on the air because of high utility bills,” Arroyos said. “We are asking the public to help us keep our seniors safe and cool this summer.”
