Dulles Middle School To Offer New Competition Math And Science Elective

During the 2009-`10 school year, Dulles Middle School students will be given the opportunity to prepare for high school level math and science competitions by enrolling in a new elective called Competition Math and Science.
The elective will be available to students in all grade levels at Dulles Middle School.

The course will be taught by Dr. Drew Poche.
To qualify for the elective, students must have the following:
- A strong interest in math and science.
- A willingness to participate in competitions on some weekends.
- A score of 2600 or better on the spring 2009 Math TAKS test.
- Math and science final year averages of 90 or above.
Dulles Middle School students interested in enrolling in the Competition Math and Science elective should call their grade level counselor or stop by the campus through June 26 and after August 2, 2009 during regular school hours (8:50 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.).
Eighth-graders should contact Mrs. Lesikar at 281-634-5758; seventh-graders call Mrs. Patterson at 281-634-5756 and sixth-graders contact Mrs. Andrus at 281-634-5757.
