The City of Sugar Land will host what it is touting as the largest fireworks display in Fort Bend County as a part of its 24th annual Red, White and Bluefest this July 4.

The event will take place 5-10 p.m. at Oyster Creek Park.

The festival will include musical performances by Password; American Rock Legends, who impersonate some of America’s rock and roll classics and Andrea Chase, this year’s opening solo artist.

There will also be a host of children’s activities, including rock walls, bounce houses, water slides, face painting and a children’s stage featuring clowns and magic shows, line dancing, a snake show and the Fort Bend Chinese American Association showcasing Chinese martial arts and dragon dancing.

With Sugar Land celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, there will be a customized fireworks set piece that will be part of the event’s grand finale – a 20-minute fireworks display that is scheduled to begin at

9:30 p.m.

To avoid traffic delays, festival-goers are encouraged to use the shuttle service from Mercer Stadium on Lexington Boulevard. The shuttle will operate 4:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.

If conditions permit, parking will also be available on the easement at Oyster Creek Park.

We have a burn ban in the rest of Fort Bend County and these brain surgeons are going to shoot off fireworks….guess we pay enough taxes to pay the Fire Depts to put out the fires!
