Fort Bend County’s burn ban and concurrent prohibition against buying some fireworks won’t impact big fireworks displays put on in Fort Bend County’s larger cities.
The ban on purchasing or discharging aerial fireworks doesn’t apply to organizations that possess pyrotechnic licenses.
Thus, the City of Rosenberg’s Independence Day fireworks display, being put on by license-holder Pyrotenico Inc. of New Castle, Pa., will take place as planned. The show will go on near the end of the city’s July 4 celebration, from 4-10 p.m. at Seabourne Creek Park, at 3827 Texas 36 South. Parking is available just south of the park, and handicapped parking will be available at the Rosenberg Civic & Convention Center, at 3825 Highway 36 South.
The fireworks begin in Missouri City at around 9 p.m., accompanied by the Missouri City Pops. Part of the city’s 25th annual Independence Day celebration, the event begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the city’s Buffalo Run Park, at 1122 Buffalo Run Drive off Texas Parkway.
For Sugar Land, July 4 marks not only national Independence Day, but a big part of the city’s celebration of its own 50th annivesary. In honor of the duel birthdays, the city’s fireworks finale will include a “special customized set piece” Saturday night.
The Sugar Land fireworks display will take place at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday during the city’s 24th Annual Red, White and Bluefest, from 5-10 p.m. at Oyster Creek Park. Parking, and a shuttle service to and from the park, will be available at Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Blvd.
The City of Stafford begins its Independence Day celebration this evening, with a 7 p.m. parade beginning at the SMSD football parking lot and continuing on First and Present streets before eventually ending at the civic center.
From 5-7 p.m. Saturday, the city is holding a patriotic concert at the Stafford Centre Theatre.
The fireworks begin at 9 p.m., and can best be viewed from behind SMSD Football stadium.
In downtown Fulshear, a July 4 parade begins at 6:30 p.m., with a fireworks display to follow.
