Sugar Land Church Offers Free Help For People In Search Of Jobs

In the midst of recession, Sugar Creek Baptist Church is offering a “Job Search Survival Ministry” designed to help local residents find jobs.

Started eight weeks ago, the program is being led by Sugar Land businessman and ministry team leader Mickey Mixon, and is free to anyone who needs a job.

The program is designed to help people sharpen their job-hunting skills, and match people with job openings.

“We will teach proven and successful job search skills,” Mixon said. “We know participants’ first concern is finding a new job. We want to not only help them find job openings, but prepare them to make the most of every job interview opportunity.”

Workshop meetings are held at 9 a.m. each Wednesday at the LYF Center, 13444 Southwest Freeway, in Sugar Land.

Skilled, experienced leaders will hold sessions on topics including how to focus your job search, resume preparation, networking and job interview techniques.
