Thieves burglarized two commercial establishments in Missouri City early Wednesday or late Tuesday, but apparently didn’t get a big return on the time and risk invested in their ventures.
Police were called to a strip center in the 2100 block of Texas Parkway at about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday where one break-in occurred. According to reports, the burglar or burglars entered a vacant store at 2188 Texas Parkway, and proceeded to break out a wall, which allowed entry into another vacant store, at 2186 Texas Parkway.
Once inside the second vacant store, the thief or thieves broke out another wall, this time gaining entry to Sivic Liquor, at 2184 Texas Parkway. A police spokesman said an initial check indicated that the only thing missing from the store was a small amount of cash left next to the register. The unusual entry apparently was planned to avoid tripping the store’s burglar alarm, he added.
Meanwhile, the owners of Pinewood Golf Center, a driving range at 555 S. Main St., reported to police that someone broke into the business either late Tuesday or early Wednesday, making off with $30 in cash.
Both burglaries are under investigation.
