Fundraiser In Fulshear This Saturday For Addison Marshall

This Saturday, Fulshear’s Sweet Tooth Shoppe will host a special fundraiser to offset the medical expenses of local teenager Addison Marshall.

The fundraising effort will take place 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. at the Sweet Tooth Shoppe in downtown Fulshear.

MARSHALL

Marshall, 15, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, an aggressive form of leukemia, and is currently a patient at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Doctors say without chemotherapy treatment, Marshall’s prognosis is considered “extremely grim.” Treatment is expected to take about three years to complete.

Marshall was diagnosed with the disease in May after complaining his ribs were hurting. X-rays showed several ribs were cracked.

His family initially thought the injury was from spring football practice for Foster High School, but it was ultimately found that his spleen was inflamed and had caused the ribs to break. The family doctor drew blood and quickly diagnosed the leukemia.

The Sweet Tooth Shoppe will be dedicating all profits and donations received Saturday to the Addison Marshall Leukemia Fund. There will also be a special appearance by Houston Texans cheerleaders from 5 – 7 p.m., as well as a special drawing for season tickets to all home Texans games, courtesy of an anonymous donor.

Special wristbands saying “We R Marshall – Crush Cancer” in Foster High School’s black and gold colors will be on sale for $5. Proceeds from the wristbands also go to offset Marshall’s medical expenses.

In addition to playing football for Foster, Marshall is an “A” student and an Eagle Scout in Fulshear’s Troop 941.

Donations can also be made to the Addison Marshall Leukemia Fund at NewFirst Bank, 2214 Avenue H in Rosenberg.
