The City of Rosenberg and the Texas Department of Transportation have announced that State Hwy. 36 will be closed to all through traffic from U.S. Hwy. 90A to Avenue J for repairs over a two-weekend period.
TxDOT reported the closures will be needed to remove the existing asphalt surface and replace it with concrete.
The work will involve both northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy. 36.
The first closure will be from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 to 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14. The road will again be closed from 7 p.m. Friday Sept. 18 to 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21.
Second Street, Houston Street and Avenue J will be used as detour routes. The contractor, Triple B Services, will be responsible for traffic control and the placement of safety devices.
The project is being under the authority of the Texas Department of Transportation.
