Gerald Wall Announces His Candidacy For Congress, Challenging Incumbent Paul

In a bid to unseat incumbent congressman Ron Paul, Gerald Wall yesterday announced his bid to seek the Republican nomination for Congress in Texas District 14.

The district includes part of Fort Bend County and much of Cinco Ranch.

WALL

WALL

Wall, who works in the petrochemical maintenance industry, said he is a strong conservative and family values candidate who believes the most serious problem in the country today is the career politician.

“They are the problem, not the solution,” Wall said.

He also called Paul “out of step with voters.”

Wall also said he has “serious differences of opinion” with Paul on issues such as his refusal to protect the American Flag, his refusal to support the military during a time of war, his vote against protecting teenage girls from being transported across state lines to have an abortion without parental consent and his vote against protecting the consumer against price gouging during a disaster.

“As our country spirals towards a financial meltdown, our very freedoms and liberties are in jeopardy. At a time when, the future of our children’s prosperity is being robbed, the last thing we need are more doctors and lawyers in Washington,” he said. “We need a representative of the people, elected by the people, who will stand for the people.”

Wall also pledged to term limit himself by serving no more than eight years in Congress.

“Rep. Paul says he supports term limits, yet he has been in Congress for over twenty years,” Wall pointed out.

Wall and his wife Frances have been married for 34 years. They have two grown daughters, a 14-year-old son nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Congress is now on board with Ron Paul’s bill to audit the FED. It got amended to require Arthur Anderson to perform the audit. The FED is bringing Bernard Madoff in to take the fall.”

I wonder why they insisted on Anderson and not an open competitive bidding format?”

my fav polemic post of the week. The troll is so full of hate he doesn’t realize Anderson lost its license in 2002 and Madoff is in jail! The post was tongue in cheek. hahaha

  6. b_tabor Says:

How much time are you going to give him cons1? I’ve been to several of the town hall meetings and all he talks about is the health care debate. I tried to ask him about local taxes and all he could say is he didn’t have any information on that. I voted for him though this past time, but if they have someone better I won’t the next.

hahaha you can’t make this stuff up

viewpoint, I am giving Olson some time. I will not be giving him too much time. He needs to follow the lead of Ted Poe. Stand up and stand firm. He has a conservative base that will back him up.

VP- So you expect Olson to look into his crystal ball and predict the future? Is that it?

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of! lol.. We need more Ron Pauls’ in the Congress and Senate!

  12. viewpoint Says:

Voteout all incumbent that fail to provide an answer to our
public questions, when you provide them a question. Most of the time the only answer they say ‘I don’t know or have an answer’, just like Rep. Olson repeat responds was ‘ I don’t know or don’t have an idea’ was the message to the public during his town hall meetings about the publics health futue.

I don’t have the inside knowledge of the FED like maybe Congressman Paul does. But… I suspect he is right. At one time I studied our banking system and what I came up with was this…

Govt. charters a business called a bank. The bank takes in deposits and lends it to a couple people in the community for cars, homes, etc. But not too many because of the risk. What the bank really does is invest your money in bonds. US govt bonds, Mortgage bonds ( as we are all well aware now ), but mainly US bonds. Now, if they don’t loan it to you or invest it, then the federal reserve pays them to give it to them. From there, I got lost like most people do. But I did learn this; if you ( taxpayer ) did not support the financial markets with paying the interest on bonds, then there would be very little the bank could make it’s money on ( easily ). So the way we are set up, we must have debt, bankers make money on the debt, tax payers pay extra to run a debtor nation. And.. bankers make easy jack and get weekends off and shrimp cocktails. It’s that simple. Oh, and its a bonus when China buys the debt because it drives down the cost of the debt for the govt.

It seems like Ron Paul has caught on to the scam and he is villified for the realization.

The FED is an institution run by ivy league insiders and political folks. The get the cream off the top at their “investment banks”. Its the good ole boy network. It’s a damn fraternity! And the Lehman house found out last year that they were on “double secret probation” and got kicked off campus.

If I am wrong and you are a banker, let me know. I am just plain curious.

Dr. Paul needs to listen to his constituents and what they want instead of constantly trying to be the odd man out

  18. MEGABITE Says:

What we have here is a typical Dr. No supporter that just can’t stand to even think about someone actually beating
his hero in an election so he feels the need to make up some BS conspiracy theory about there being a plant.

Paul is a prime example of why we need term limits.

  19. MEGABITE Says:

Huh? Come back when you know what you’re talking about.

  20. ktunstall Says:

Don’t mind MEGA, he is still mad that Dr. Paul did not endorse “his” local corporate welfare candidates.

  22. MEGABITE Says:

Plant from the establishment? Oh brother, another conspiracy theorist.

  23. b_tabor Says:

    roark,

My sympathies are with you. The attacks on Dr. Paul remind me very much of the attacks on the congressional men and women who voted twice against the banking and insurance company tax bailout votes by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. They promised to seek the seats of those that opposed the nationalization of that industry and yes Paul was one of them.

  24. FtBendConservative Says:

no doubt the kook fringe of both parties have influence, but the real conservatives the majority of Americans will make their voices heard and bring America back to the center undoing the liberal’s agenda once again.

  25. roark183 Says:

It would appear that Mr. Wall is a plant from the Republican establishment that doesn’t want the Fed to be audited. Note that he says nothing about issues of substance. Ron Paul is riding high with fair chance of his Audit the Fed bill passing. Congressman Paul has never had a Congressional bill of substance get so much attention. Congressman Paul is actually having an effect and now he is being challenged for his seat in Congress. In most of Paul’s re-election campaigns he has run unchallenged even by Democrats, let alone a Republican. They know the people of his district are really behind him. Now, thirteen months before the election one pops up and tries to make issues of such innocuous things as the Flag and price gouging.

Mr. Wall misses the whole point about the military. Of course Congressman Paul supports the military. It’s the wars he doesn’t support. Mr. Wall apparently can’t make the distinction. The military does what it is ordered to do and Paul does support them in that regard. He does not support the war, which evidently Mr. Wall does. It’s difficult to tell because he is so confused on the issues.

Another point Mr. Wall misses is that Congressman Paul DOES support term limits. During his first tenure in Congress, Paul term limited himself out of office. He set a term limit for himself and kept it, so he was out of office for some years. Then he ran again, won and has been in Congress since. However, Congressman Paul knows he is unique in Congress. As Senator McCain said, “Ron Paul is the most honest man in Congress.” Therefore he now stays in Congress and serves as a standard by which we can judge others in Congress.

On his website, Mr. Wall says very little about the economy. Protecting the borders and national security are big issues for him, as they are with Congressman Paul. But he doesn’t state how he plans to continue supporting the wars and settle the economy, probably because he can’t see a way to do that. I would ask Mr. Wall how do you keep spending all this money abroad and settle our finances at home?

Another issue Mr. Wall mentions on his website is healthcare, but he doesn’t mention how to get the government out of healthcare. Instead he proposes the government buying into more community centers. He makes no mention of medical lawsuits, the real cause of the rise in healthcare. Medical lawsuits should be settled so that the loser of the lawsuit pays the medical bills. With such a provision, we would see lawsuits plummet and health costs would follow. Doctors would not have to have such expensive insurance. It wasn’t until lawsuits took hold that medical costs started rising. Mr. Wall neglects this point. Nor does he mention simply getting the government out of healthcare altogether.

It is very apparent that Mr. Wall has been planted to get Ron Paul out of Congress. The most obvious point that supports this view is that Mr. Wall makes no mention of how he stands regarding the economy. He makes small mention of finances on his website, but nothing on the economy. Does he support the Federal Reserve? Does he support HR 1207, which is Ron Paul’s trademark bill? Does he support the IRS in its continued extortion of American citizens?

The timing of his candidacy and lack of stance on the economy, Ron Paul’s trademark issue, mark Mr. Wall a plant from the establishment. One congressman in the recent HR 1207 hearings remarked that Ron Paul knows more about the economy than anyone else in Congress. What does Mr. Wall know about the economy. Not a wit! This type of individual has little integrity. I believe the people of Ron Paul’s district will see this fellow for what he is. I doubt Mr. Wall’s candidacy will last until the election thirteen months from now.

  26. b_tabor Says:

Sure is good to see so many in here that reject the politics as usual from what one poster called the “republicrats”. Internal change for the party that flies the banner of real conservatism is long over due. Over the last 2 decades it has been mostly talk and feeding your own special interest at our expense. Both tax subsidized parties need a good shake up from the base if you ask me.

  27. conservative1 Says:

1true, I appreciate the support. I just wanted everyone to know where the thought process comes from. My experience was pre-NAFTA and pre-Amnesty but holds true for all young people starting out today.

  28. b_tabor Says:

rjrii, good quote from McCain. For someone who attacked Paul relentlessly during the campaign that says a great deal.

  29. JiveDadson Says:

Lumping Ron Paul in with “career politicians” is not going to fly. Despite his years in DC, he is still very much an outsider to the establishment. Why? Because he is honest, and he is right. That is a terrifying combination to a Republicrat.

Ron Paul was ridiculed and vilified in 2003 when he predicted the outcome of the Iraq folly with what has proven to be stunning accuracy.

Ron Paul was dismissed in 2006 when he said that loose monetary policy was fueling a housing bubble that would bring the economy to its knees. We know how that worked out.

Ron Paul was marginalized and ridiculed during the presidential debates when he said that if the US continued its reckless spending on wars, welfare, and “stimulus” (corporate welfare), that the dollar would lose its status as the world’s reserve currency. Have you read the headlines today, October 6, 2009?

Give it up Wall. You will not be able to oust perhaps the only completely honest man in congress.

DC needs a house-cleaning, and Ron Paul is just the guy to do it. Support HR 1207. Audit the Fed! That’s where it all starts.

  30. MEGABITE Says:

Paul does have alot of backers, it’s going to be a tough one for Wall.

  31. C.Walters Says:

Wow as if anyone following the progress Dr. Paul has been making didn’t see this coming. The guy is currently trying to take down the most corrupt branch of government, The Federal Bank, and you guys are talking about immigration? I understand that is a more immediate problem in your eyes, but understand the effects of the government printing money and handing it out to whomever they choose and then tell me which is more dangerous. Inflation eats away at your savings forcing us into a slave like work-load, it forces us to become less competitive as a nation in foreign markets, and it allows the government to keep growing and taking, un-checked by its citizens.

As for immigration, this is a problem in every country around the world. I’ve lived in Spain for the last year; it’s a much bigger problem there and in Europe, which is leading to violence in some areas. You have to keep in mind that the problem is not Mexican or Canadian or whoever, it’s the fact that Americans are restricted because the employer and the worker can’t negotiate for wages anymore due to minimum wage laws and other protective worker laws. By staying in the system as an American, you are less desirable than a worker who would work for less, complain less, and not ask for health benefits.

The Mexicans aren’t bad people they are just trying to better their lives and the lives of their families back home. Many of which are still living at a third world standard of living. And I will tell you that Americans are in demand in just about every country around the world as well. So perhaps you should all be looking for jobs outside of your boarders if you can’t find them at home. It says nowhere in the constitution that you have a right to a job in America. We only have that privilege if our country is making money, and it hasn’t shown signs of real growth for several years. Keep in mind the world is a collective economy now; you can’t run away from this. You have to figure out what you have that others don’t and exploit this to make sure you keep earning wages. A big part of this is education. Many of these foreign workers don’t access to higher education, and that’s where their tickets stop. So education is as always, your gateway to more opportunity and less competition. I am a white American from Arizona and a recent college grad. People are very similar all around the world, so before you attack immigrants. Look deeper and search for the real problem, and that usually leads back to poor government policy, enacting by ignorance and fear.

Ron Paul is one of few people in congress making a difference in the right direction, and I can tell you that if you boot him from your state, we’d be glad to have him here. He is the only honest man in Congress, and he’s a pillar, which is allowing many other honest people back into government. Real change is coming via Ron Paul, so please educate yourselves back home as to how lucky you are to have him.

  32. Thomas Morton Says:

Let’s see, Ron Paul “refused to support the military?” That might be news to the majority of armed services personnel who donated more money to Paul than all the other Presidential candidates COMBINED. What Wall is really saying is that a Congressman should do whatever the President wants. If that’s the case, who needs Congress? Do we really need more drones for Obama, or whoever replaces him, to manipulate?

And, let’s see, where does Wall stand on the critical economic issue of this century, i.e., the debasement of our currency and the power of the Eastern financial oligarchy as wielded through the Federal Reserve? Well, well, well, Wall is strangely silent. Yeah, he’s a “conservative.” Right.

  33. JCH Says:

You’ve got to be kidding me! Who’s been been preaching for decades if we don’t reign in government spending by keeping the dollar on a standard our economy will be in trouble? And who’s fought harder for our very freedoms and liberties than Ron Paul?

  34. 1trueconservative Says:

I can understand your feelings conservative1. People must be very clear on this problem and emphasize that it is about illegal immigration or the message may become another political football.

Recently I got to have a NAFTA experience too. It is sad that such a project was pushed by both parties. I know one thing I like that Dr. Paul is doing and that is attempting to audit the fed. I wonder why they are protesting so much?

  35. MEGABITE Says:

Time for Dr. No to go.

  36. rjriii Says:

Voting Ron Paul out of office would be a huge mistake. He is the only politician in Washington who the people can trust. He is the only one that lobbyists don’t waste thier time on. Rom Paul MUST be re-elected if our country is to have any chance of survival.

“Ron Paul is the most honest man in Congress.” – John McCain

  37. conservative1 Says:

    One tidbit about illegal immigration.

A couple of decades ago when I started working, I was appalled at how many illegals were here working. It didn’t make sense. Initially, I thought it was sad these folks had to do these jobs. Those thoughts quickly changed.

I got a job at local grocery store as a sacker and eventually moved up to stocker and then MGR training, etc. All along, I competed with foreign nationals from Mexico for hours. Those foreign nationals were good guys and gals and were very productive. Subsequently they held the coveted “full time” positions while I got the scraps of part-time. Exploited by the situation but at the same time thankful to have a job I had to…endure. As a young man, I will never forget the backseat I was forced to take to undoubtedly illegal workers.( Workers that were socking money away to payoff their acreage in Mexico, that’s right — their ranches ) I had to compete. But…I just wonder how much more I could have made if I didn’t have to compete so hard. I wonder if my services were a little more in demand would I be better off, of course I would.

I survived. But I will never forget it.

And now with entry level jobs, there is no advantage to be an American. There is no advantage to speak full english, there is no advantage to have a real ss#, there is no advantage to be without a criminal record, there is no advantage to have a drivers license. In fact, many of those items will make you less attractive, that’s because businesses will take the cheapest option available. It’s out of hand, it needs to stop.

  38. b_tabor Says:

Well often, our own party has traded our interests off in some back room deal. That is the real shame. Congressional leaders were bought off long ago and use singular issues as a distraction at the local level. The question should be do they ever have any real intention of addressing this issue or any others they throw up to distract us. Many in the home building industry depend on this labor force to keep their costs down and many of these same company executives back Pete (R). They also backed Lampson (D) and Delay (R) before him.

  39. conservative1 Says:

He told me it was a good question and that sadly nothing has been done on the problem. In fairness to Olson, the question I specifically asked was “What has been done in congress to address illegal immigration” I already knew Olson, Poe, Culberson, McCaul,Paul are steadfast against the plague but yeah, nothing had been done.

In my opinion, right now our Republican congressman are the football equivilent to the JV team playing against the district champ varsity team. They can only hope the varsity team keeps making mistakes. Everyday those JV players are getting bigger and stronger and tired of losing but….

  40. 1trueconservative Says:

    What was the response conservative1?

  41. conservative1 Says:

Good luck to Wall. However, we need established Repubicans to with seniority to be effective. Paul seems to be solidly conservative. He is somewhat liberterian but will be proven correct if the the Fed, Congress and President continue to de-value the dollar. He thinks we should still be on the gold standard, right? Wall, here you go. A question for you. Its the same question I asked Olson on his last town hall.

What will you do to stop illegal immigration?
