Lamar Consolidated Independent School District’s Special Education Department has scheduled a series created by Howard Glasser and Jennifer Easley for special education parents.
All classes will be held in the Navarro Middle School Library, 4700 Ave N. The series will be given three times, with the first series held Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Nov.19 and Dec. 3. The classes will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The second series will begin Jan. 28 and the third begins March 25.
Parents should call Rosalie Ramirez at 832-223-0400 to register for class and childcare. If childcare is needed parents must call with the number of children for each class to ensure there are enough snacks for each child.
Nancy Kling, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree in clinical psychology and a Certified Specialist in the Nurtured Heart Approach, will be the presenter for the series.
She has extensive training and experience with behavioral issues, positive behavioral support, classroom management, and positive school-wide discipline. Kling has worked with students with challenging behavior since 1992 and worked in public schools for more than ten years as a behavior specialist, a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, and an administrator in special education.
