A shoplifting attempt turned into a robbery at Kohl’s department store yesterday when one of the suspects hit the loss prevention officer in the face.
According to police, a man and two women – one carrying a baby – were stopped by the loss prevention officer at the store, 5660 Hwy.6, when they walked out allegedly carrying stolen items in two purses. The store employee stopped the woman carrying the baby, who then called out to the man.
The man came over, took two purses from the woman, and ran. He tripped, and the loss prevention officer caught up with him. The suspect fought the officer, hitting him in the face. While the fight was taking place, the two women left, and flagged down a motorist in front of LA Fitness. They asked the driver for a ride, and he took them to Glen Lakes at Hwy. 6, where he was pulled over by Missouri City police.
Police arrested 26-year-old Richmond resident Alexander Castillo, and charged him with robbery. Rosenberg resident Jahaira Maldonaldo, 20, was arrested for robbery and for giving police a false name. Abigail Guel, a 19-year-old Richmond resident, was charged with robbery and giving police a false name, and she also had a warrant out of Fort Bend County.
It is unclear in the reports what happened to the baby. Police say they found $55.98 worth of stolen merchandise in the purses.

This is not the first time for these people. Check the public records for these criminals in fortbend county website under public records/misdemeanor section. These criminals know how to work the system and reset, reset, reset each time they are in court. This allows them to stay on street and do more crimes. Its our judicial system that fails us in the end. Judges need to be researched before election to see just how hard they are on crime. Sorry to be a damper…just became a victim of identity theft over the weekend.
There is always someone trying to rip off that Kohls!
