The fire alarm at Lake Olympia Middle School has been replaced, inspected by the fire marshal and the school has successfully held its first fire drill with the new system.
Lake Olympia was on “fire watch” by the Missouri City Fire Marshal for about two weeks after lightening destroyed the school’s fire alarm system Oct. 2.
The new system was installed last week at a cost of $12,549. The system was already scheduled for replacement later this year as part of the Fort Bend Independent School District’s 2007 bond referendum.

This is good news for the children, teachers, staff and families of Lake Olympia. I wonder what the cost was to the district for the 24/7 fire watch?
