With the for sale sign still up on the land in Sienna Plantation that was formerly owned by Christus Health Systems, UT Physicians has announced their plan to open a practice in Sienna Village in Missouri City. The practice is scheduled to open in spring of 2010.
Sienna Village is an 80,000-square-foot mixed-used development in Sienna Plantation. Once completed, the project will feature a variety of retail space options, including five pad sites for banks, shops and restaurants.
UT Physicians, the medical group practice of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, has entered into a lease agreement for 8,882 sq. ft. in the development with plans to expand to 24,000 sq. ft.
UT Physicians will provide comprehensive, multi-specialty care for patients of all ages – from routine wellness exams and care for common illnesses to highly specialized treatments for complex medical conditions, according to Weaver, Davis & Jacob Realty Group, developers of Sienna Village.
“When we polled the Sienna Plantation community about what they wanted at Sienna Village, their number one need was a grocery store. So we brought a new 113,771-square-foot H-E-B Plus to Sienna Plantation. Now, we are pleased to bring more excellent tenants like UT Physicians to the community,” said G. Peter Jacob, principal, WDJ Realty Group.

MoCty- Maybe Scott Weaver and his bunch can pull a hospital out of their pocket too, like the HEB. Medical offices are nice, but a full service hospital with ER and a trauma center is hard to arrange. Maybe a South exit too that they’ve been promising for years so the tens of thousands of residents have more than one exit onto backed up hwy6 for evacs during the big storms. That South road was suppose to be in back in 2004, it still isn’t.
Way to go UT Phys., help get a hospital in now for Fresno, Arcola and MC residents. It is still needed.
