Hannah Giles – the journalist who portrayed a prostitute in an undercover investigation showing employee misconduct within The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), will speak in Sugar Land at a dinner sponsored by The Spirit of Freedom Republican Women.
Hannah Giles helped expose misconduct within the ACORN organization by portraying a prostitute in an undercover investigation.
The dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Sugar Creek Country Club.
A 20-year-old journalism student interested in what she describes as “exposing social injustice and abuse of power,” Giles helped bring ACORN corruption to light. ACORN has been the subject of numerous other public controversies in the past involving embezzlement, management fights, and voter registration fraud committed by its workers.
The organization claims more than 400,000 members and more than 1,200 neighborhood chapters involved in housing and wage issues for the poor, public education, voter registration, and other “social justice” issues supported by liberal and labor-oriented causes.
In 2009, Giles collaborated with James O’Keefe, an independent film maker, in a series of undercover videotapes that found several ACORN employees willing to foster illegal or immoral activities. Their efforts initially went viral on the web and then became a national and international news story. To date, videos have been released from six ACORN offices: Baltimore; Washington, DC; Brooklyn; San Bernardino; San Diego; and Philadelphia.
As a direct consequence of their work, ACORN’s relationship with the U.S. Census Bureau and IRS were terminated. In addition, bipartisan legislative action passed to bar ACORN from receiving funds from the U.S. government and at least one criminal probe has been launched. In September, ACORN announced that it had suspended advising new clients pending an audit of its activities.
Giles is currently studying journalism at Florida International University and was an intern at the National Journalism Center in Washington, D.C. She is also a columnist for BigGovernment.com and for Townhall.com.

ACORN was using our tax dollars to push a progressive agenda. They were not just an organization that registered voters and helped the poor. However they were brought down, it shows the organization was corrupt from top to bottom. This was the epitome of the Chigago polital machine X’s 10. Thank goodness the young folks were bold enough to carry this off, otherwise you and I would be paying a much higher price for the results of ACORN. Now, to all the conservatives out there, you must vote, everytime. The progressives ( liberals ) that support more government in place of less government will not stop until they are forced to get a job or two like the rest of us. Heaven forbid they start a business and see the reality that the rest of us live on a daily basis.

I will be honest with you, I have nothing to prove what I am about to say except my wife and I (and several other members of our community) were often asked to act in our high school son’s film productions. These lame films always involved #1 a drug deal #2 a chase scene #3 a pimp and prostitute and #4 the infamous fight scene. Our home was always chosen for the fight scene, because we had the biggest foyer chandelier. Don’t ask me how this makes sense, they were kids and most importantly, as my wife repeated endlessly, “you have to support the preforming arts.” I was always asked to be the butler who let in the pimp, bodyguard, and the drug dealer into my foyer. My wife was always the maid and the screamer at the foyer fight scenes. Butlers and maids are no doubt how most kids feel about their parents, but we dutifully “supported the performing arts.”
Interestingly these are the exact words used by the ACORN people and it is my strong feeling of connectedness to the “lame performing arts” that this was a staged act that was requested of ACORN employees, from the beginning. I know a real maid and butler, or acorn employee when I see one, and I did not see anything real or unstaged about the acorn movie. It was staged and ALL of the actors were simply trying to “support the preforming arts.” They had no idea the prostitute was a real republican prostitute who was out to screw those who were simply asked to be the maids and butlers. All that was missing was the chase scene and the fight in my foyer. God help us all.

Fraud is fraud… it doesn’t matter which organization is exposed – a conservative, liberal or other organization.
Frankly, with all the resources our government has at its disposal, I am surprised that all it took was two kids posing as a pimp / prostitute. Sounds a little Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew doesn’t it?

Commended, for what pray tell? Acorn is an organization of the poor and powerless; thus, it has been maliciously maligned because they help the little guy.
So, are the calls to commend this journalist due to efforts to besmirch an organization that helps the downtrodden?
If this journalist is so commendable, where was she when the votes of people in Florida were deliberately not counted?
If this journalist is so commendable, where was she when folks on the way to cast their votes in Florida were bum rushed and intimidated and impeded from voting by threats of legal force by arrest?
If this journalist is so commendable, where was she when Katherine Harris colluded with other to throw the election?
In my humble opinion, the calls of commendation for this journalist by some who post here seem to be because this journalist was an adversary of the little guy, but, as history has already played out, this journalist, certainly, was not adversarial on behalf of justice when the “big boys” who are “not” for the little guy took the previous two elections prior to the 2008 election.
