An 18-year-old was arrested Sunday and charged with deadly conduct after firing a weapon near a driving range where 11 people were hitting golf balls.

Missouri City police received a call around 1:45 p.m. reporting shots fired and a suspicious car in the 900 block of Cravens Road, which is a dead end near a field but has a few homes in the area. Police saw a white Chrysler matching the caller’s description parked on the side of the road, and asked the driver and his female passenger to get out.

The driver, Pedro Donjuan, told police he was carrying a gun in his waistband, but it wasn’t loaded. According to reports, when the officer initially tried to handcuff Donjuan, he pulled his hands away. The officer ordered him to put his hands behind his back or the officer would have to use force, and Donjuan complied. A search of the car revealed two magazines, one containing live ammunition.

Police searched the 15-year-old passenger as well, and found a bag of marijuana.  Donjuan was arrested and charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm and deadly conduct.
