40,000 Pounds Of Food To Be Distributed At Fairgrounds

The Fort Bend Convey of Hope will distribute 40,000 pounds of food at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds Nov. 21. The all-volunteer outreach event will include free refreshments, live entertainment, children’s carnival area, medical and dental services, social services, clothing distribution, haircuts and more.  No identification is needed.

The site will open at 10 a.m. and continue rain or shine until all the food has been distributed. Representatives hope to feed as many as 5,000 children and adults in Fort Bend County.

The event is a partnership with numerous businesses, churches, and community agencies who have donated time and resources to host the community outreach event.

Hope this doesn’t start a food riot. Have things really gotten this bad?
