Restaurant Employee Reports Assault By Vegetable

A 23-year-old employee of Double Dave’s Pizza Works at 4506 Hwy. 6 reported an unusual assault to the Sugar Land Police Department yesterday, apparently involving a disagreement over how many vegetables should be on a pizza.

The employee went to the police station lobby to tell officers that while he was making a pizza at work, the owner’s wife accused him of putting too many vegetables on the pizza.

The employee told police that after he took some of the vegetables off and threw them away, the owner’s wife took vegetables off another pizza he made previously and threw them at him. She is also accused of screaming at him.

This lady is fu—-n crazy, strikermcgee knows from personal experience how egotistic this lady can really be. She think she knows every thing and will never admit shes wrong, not to mention shes a gay fish.

and no the employee did no get fired, he quit the moment that hurtful veggie touched him.
Besides, she has been known to also throw water at him.

Stryker- Did they fire the guy? I would hope so.

Well then Stryker, it seems the employee was a little to up tight. The food biz can be stressful but it sounds like the lady’s actions were misinterpreted. So…I think the next time we can put the calories in our diet budget, we should give a visit to Double Daves and ask for extra peppers with a big ole smile! Hopefully the police and district attorney will see that no assault took place and the kid will need to settle down and probably move on to some other place that doesn’t involve following too many directions. If the manager can’t use humor and lighthearted actions to run her business, everyone suffers. It all gets back to what is reasonable. Sounds like she was reasonable.

    haha, DoubleDaves Trumps dominos,
Heres how it goes. everyone heres is REALLLLY laid back. even the owners. and the woman (owners wife) sometimes gets aggrivating and can get snipey with everyone. BUT most of the time she is really fun and likes to work with all of us younger people. and being laid back as we are, we like to mess around, and sometimes like to throw small stuff at eachother and what not (in a joking manner) wellllll that day was a good day, and she was in a good mood, and before the 23yr old worker got there me and her were having fun and stuff. well when he got there he began making pizza and one he made had a bit too many peppers, and she pointed it out, and in a joking manner (as any of us, including myself would have done.) threw them off the pizza at him. but the problem is, he didnt realize she was playing and got all pissed, and made a huge scence, and made her feel like crap. so that how it ended.

This was a pretty funny story, but you are right. It does no good to treat your employees this way.

Please Stryker, tell us more. In my past life as a serf, I had more than one experience with small business owners that were rude. Tip for the lady, you get what you pay for and you get less if you pay them nothing AND treat them like crap. If the job was gratifying, they would follow your instructions and if you “sold” it better you would avoid assault charges because they liked you or respected you. Of course maybe your instructions were important to the safety of the employee but it’s more than evident that you are just a cheapa$$ because it was over too many toppings. In any case you pissed off your employee to the point they went to the police, LOL.

I remember Double Daves back college in 1985. ummmm it was good stuff.

Can you share more on this stryker?

this wasnt the first time something like this had happened. a previous incedint including the kitchin vegatable spray being used as a super soaker…
Anyway, the woman being filed against is a little crazy, but not all too evil all the time.

The article only reported that a charge was made. If she doesn’t want it to stick all she has to do is lie about it. I remember a friend filing an assault charge when a doctor in an ER used the wrong size needle to inject some medication into a patient. It takes all kinds, but this is still an amusing story.

  13. MEGABITE says:

Cmon now, is getting hit by a piece of onion or a slice of black olive really an assault? Sounds like the kid wanted
    some pay back to me.

  14. conservative1 says:

This is great, If is is true, I hope the assault charge sticks and everyone takes notice. You can be fired at will in Texas, but harrassment and assault whether deserved or not should not take place.

I thought I had noticed dirt and debris on my pizza!

  18. breckporter says:

He may have been assaulted WITH a vegetable but he was NOT assaulted BY a vegetable. If he were, he would have to file charges on the vegetable itself.
