The Missouri City Branch Library, 1530 Texas Pkwy., will host a Sweet-Potato Pie Contest in November. Patrons may enter their favorite recipe for Sweet-Potato Pie between Nov. 2 and Nov. 14 for the preliminary round. Judges will select three recipes from those submitted in the preliminary round, and those three entrants will then be asked to bake their dish for the final round on Nov. 21. Winners will be announced Nov. 23.

The first-place winner will receive a baking cookbook; the second-place winner will receive oven mitts; and the third-place winner will receive a kitchen utensil. All three finalists will receive a ribbon.
