Well as long as some boards act without the consent of there membership I’m sure we will continue to see problems. Our individual property rights are no small matter. Thank you for the list of lawyers that feed off this system.

  2. patriot missive says:

Even a barking megamouth will not stop HOA reformers. Too many people are now being affected (targeted) due to a decrease of money flowing into the HOA pipeline. Like crack addicts, HOAs will keep targeting homeowners until their money and power addictions are temporary satisfied.

Purple houses and jacked up cars are the same fear techniques as ” weapons of mass destruction” created to manipulate people into signing on to flaming BS.

  3. FtBendConservative says:

looks like the HOA ranters got their collective butts handed to them again. Apparently for some losing is a habit.

  4. sunshine says:

Why do you all argue so much. Life is to short.

  5. MEGABITE says:

I wasn’t talking to you. Are you Scud’s keeper?

  6. MEGABITE says:

Hey newbie, mind your own business.

  7. cult_of_one says:

I think if you would stop calling people names you may be more effective. Who is ‘scud’ anyway? I would also suggest that you read some of the reports in this rather long thread and check out those live links above too. They are not about people parking cars in their yards. I read one case where thousands in fines went to a lawyer for grass that was higher than code. Sounds like they need some major tort reform in this area too.

  8. MEGABITE says:

Scud has a vendetta against all HOAs everywhere. Of course he’d have a fit if people were parking their cars up in their yards or not cutting their grass. You can bet on that.

  9. cult_of_one says:

Looks like the discussions here is a little more than a letter.

Did anyone find out if the membership was given a chance to vote on this or the $150,000 gift the board gave away last year after raising the annuals and not using the funds as then expressed?

  10. MEGABITE says:

Must’ve gotten another letter in the mail…

  11. patriot missive says:

If you feel that your HOA board is run well, you are either not well informed or indeed it is run well. The structure of the system allows your honest and well run board to be one election away from tyranny. The HOA system is structurally corrupt.

  12. patriot missive says:

The targeted way the rules are applied and the manipulated manner that board members acquire power offer no legal protection for any home owner. HOAs pick off people one at a time so that others can hold on to the idea (hope) that those who are picked off before them, are “oddballs” who don’t want to pick up the trash can. Most people are unaware that people can be targeted for absolutely nothing. Indeed, if the targeted person hires a lawyer to make the HOA prove that he left his garbage can out, the HOA simply hires their attorney and bills the homeowner for the HOA attorney. The HOA vendor attorney’s bill will be in the thousands (and in the rapid process of growing). There is absolutely no oversight in the HOA gator scam.

There is no mystery that Enron was headquartered here. Texas has not yet learned how to make “business friendly” less unethical and fraudulent. We can start with the structure of our HOAs.

Also gator-con might want to take his own 2×4 sized grammar planks out of his own eye before pointing to anyone else. Con-gator does run a shell game for someone who does not want the system improved. There can be no question about that.

  13. FtBendConservative says:

Here’s a tip to the malcontents. If you want to move into an established neighborhoof. First find out what the rules are. Then decide if you can abide with them. Thats how grownups do it.

Unfortunately there are always a few “oddballs” who thinks the rules are for someone else. “you can’t make me pick up my trashcans You can’t make me paint my house. You can’t make me…..” So because of a few nuts then everyone gets saddled with rules.

In order for man to peacefully co-exist there must be rules and unfortunately there are always a “few” that the “rules don’t apply to”. Its called a lack of respect for authority and they always get ostracized.

“A fifty dollar garbage-can fine can quickly turn into a $50,000.00 foreclosure filing.”

“I bet my HOA gives money to the KKK too.”

and these little boogers want to tell “Others” how to run their HOA? ummm we’ll call you don’t call us.

hahaha…..Larry Curly and Moe just about sums it up.

  16. patriot missive says:

You can see why HOAs would want to donate books and spray other “air fresheners” while they do their real “dirty work,” with our money.

If HOAs were required to have open records and meetings, fair elections, no foreclosure threats, and no reapportionment of annual dues, then they would need a lot less air freshener!

Why not allow fair elections to vote on HOA contributions for district and city services?

  17. Factually Speaking says:

How awful! HOA’s having the ability to foreclose on homes is craziness.

  18. patriot missive says:

The list of people who have been consumed by their HOAs is endless. A retired woman in Pecan Grove has been fined over 300,000.00 for a fence that she installed, and was approved by her board, but she did not install it until the new board took office. She waited several months to install it, because she was being treated for cancer. Her board president madly wants her home. He is gator hungry for foreclosure! She is one of so many others…

I do wish this HOA system were just fantasy as con-gator wants the other ducks in our pond to think.

  19. santhony says:

PM, Another good one was in the neighborhood across from where charlie (conman) is a member (board member hahaha)…..Meadow Creek in Missouri City. They had 288 foreclosure filings out of 714 homes total. They tried to turn their board over several times because their legal vendor was cashing in. A SL city council member was one of the primary partners of that law firm.

PS Ever notice how charlie has absolutely no redeeming character traits? All he can do is poke fun and troll. I found a case in the AHRC database on a retired couple his HOA went after too. You would have to be nearly brain dead to respond the way this low-life does to issues impacting homes, schools, children and families. An absolute zero.

PPS I guess someone who makes comments like these below can’t possibly be human, just a vegetable:

we haven’t heard that one yet today.

all this complaining because of “Quail Valley Fund Donates Science Books To Lantern Lane Elementary School”….its not someone lost a court case about pseudos or something earth shattering……hahaha omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. FtBendConservative says:

  24. santhony says:

PM, I did a brief search and found quite a few cases like the one you shared. One I found had a family spending almost $270K over a 3 year court battle with their HOA over mold on a fence. Here’s one over an RV, apparently these cases violating the property rights and draining the equity off people private property are very common:

HOA battle over RV sets Gilbert family back $100,000
    Astrid Galvan – Aug. 11, 2009 12:07 PM
    AP Wire

A two-year legal battle over where to park an RV is now costing a Gilbert family $100,000…

-What’s really sad PM is the lobbyist-lawyer who helped write the property code that helped set up this system is also on the HOAdata.org lawyer abuse list and has family members of judges serving in his law firm who is our county district judge administrator who hears and assigns many of these cases. It would seem like another potential conflict of interest. I remember reading about a complaint filed against the FB county district judge administrator with the Texas Commission on Judical Conduct a few years ago that was investigated.

Amazing what a little mold will turn up. LOL

  25. FtBendConservative says:

“A fifty dollar garbage-can fine can quickly turn into a $50,000.00 foreclosure filing.”

folks has anyone seen “One flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” Its being lived out here in Ft Bend Cty…..hahaha omg this is hilarious.

  26. santhony says:

PM, the link to the Fox investigation in the #254 post is my favorite. It show how these cronies operate often in an unethical manner. We have Mr. Howard in this area much like the Woodlands have Mr. Carona. They really shouldn’t stage lobbyist as average homeowners, but that’s the industry feeding on its own.

  27. patriot missive says:

Foreclosure FILINGS make as much, or more, money for the HOA vendors than completed foreclosures. Foreclosure filings are where the real HOA economic shakedowns take place. A fifty dollar garbage-can fine can quickly turn into a $50,000.00 foreclosure filing. Most people would pay anything to avoid the trauma of seeing their home sold on the courthouse steps, and don’t the HOA attorney vendors know it!

  28. FtBendConservative says:

calvin I’m easy to explain, I’m neither a kool aide drinker or a whining complaining loser.

  29. b_tabor says:

That’s a powerful site Patriot Missive, thanks for including it. I found the list of law firms very interesting and I’m going to do a search on our HOA from the county court site to see how many of these guys are replicating this here in our county and with our HOA. I’m sure they use the thousands of filings as fee generators. I especially enjoyed the report on how the higher the number of filings the lower the property values were in those neighborhoods. It was interesting because one of the standard arguments for having this power is to maintain property values and apparently we are seeing just the opposite. I’ve just started looking at it, but it appears to have some excellent information.

  30. santhony says:

You see classic attacks on homeowners property rights by charlie in the #269 post above. it’s really a good example of what I just mentioned above. You won’t see him defending classic conservatism on constitutional principals. He is a no-bid corporate vendor feeder and attacks free markets, real fair trade as well as democracy.

I believe they call it classic corpocracy (corporate run government) ala Mussolini. They would be proud of him. Individual and constitutional rights are suspended in such a government.

  31. santhony says:

PM, I don’t know if I can explain it all, other than he is a toadie (classic internet troll) for the area special interest that use many of the developer run HOAs and some of the non-developer run HOAs like the old political wards, even though that is illegal for them to behave as such since they are not PACs, but non-profits corps. CharlieB (wadefishin/ftbendconman/johnbernardbooks/noodlz/etc…) admitted he was very much part of an HOA being investigated by the Treasury dept. that actually solicited funds for certain government vendor feeding candidates.

They like to call themselves “conservative”, but this clique uses Eminent Domain to take large amounts of property away from property owners, rather than pay them market value. They pretend to want lower taxes and hide deep within the arms of the local republican party. Many in the party recognize them and which industry is backing them financially and have run for office in opposition. They usually attack them with their usual lies. Usually you can tell what the “neocons/fake conservatives” are up to because charlie telegraphs it in here. They oppose CAD appraisal caps and property tax caps along with supporting giving our public roadways we’ve paid for over to private foreign corporations as toll roads, just to name a few. They’ve also backed, endorsed and accepted “tipping fees” (some call them legal bribes) to push for the largest landfill (near 20 stories) in the SE Texas area. It will also be the highest man made structure in the county (remember most buildings are limited to 6 stories in our county). Charlie isn’t a major player, but thinks he is and continues to give them away in here.

It’s really too bad we see hired trolls like these, but we are dealing with them as we speak. This one likes to threaten old women, teachers and other posters as has been well documented over the years. He is all about borrowing more and creating greater debt, higher property taxes and intentional ad valorem increases as well as increased spending on special projects for this same political machine. He has defended all of these in here and is doing so right now in the FBISD over-crowding thread.

He is a very sad person, but it is hard to have sympathy for someone that does this deliberately and for a living to his neighbors and family.

PS Actually charlie, Joe Murphy called you the “village idiot” and others have merely repeated it and it has become the normal nick given to you by posters in here. You seem to thrive on the attention, so enjoy it.

  32. FtBendConservative says:

pms from # 247 “THE DATABASES LIST COURT FILINGS THAT COULD LEAD TO FORECLOSURE. THESE DO NOT LIST ACTUAL FORECLOSURE SALES.”
have someone explain to you the difference between actual and what could happen.

Your sky “could” fall tomorrow, mine probably won’t. But don’t let me bring any knowledge to your little corner of the world.

  33. patriot missive says:

These links (247 & 254) are of real and lasting “substance.” I am at a loss as to why con-gator would want people to stay uninformed on basic property rights. Santhony, can you explain why the village idiot would want all property owners to remain ignorant of basic property rights? I can only imagine!

  34. FtBendConservative says:

you call me the village idiot because you have nothing of substance to offer.

Get a life you whiney complaining loser.

  35. santhony says:

But the links in posts 247 & 254 are very good sources for the rest of you.

  36. santhony says:

Just ignore the hired edc-troll monkey. He has nothing of substance to add to any of the forums, that’s why we call him the “village idiot”. hahaha

  37. FtBendConservative says:

What’s the site for the HOA foreclosure data Patriot?

  40. FtBendConservative says:

  41. patriot missive says:

Whistle blowers all “seem” to speak in hyperbole, until the evidence and the real issues are known to more than just a few. I suggest that anyone living in a HOA to go to the AARP website, the Houston League of Women Voters website, and Texas HOA Reform website, and the HOA Foreclosure Data website just to get started on familiarizing themselves with the obscene gator like attacks of the HOA system.

  42. cult_of_one says:

I like the descriptors Patriot Missive. I believe some call it the herding mentality. We see it quite a bit in politics too.

  43. cult_of_one says:

Well I’m not part of any group, as you say. Perhaps you just bring out the worst in the blogs you participate in ftbendconservative. I’m still trying to figure out what your soapbox is. Don’t you support property rights?

  44. FtBendConservative says:

hay Ft Bend Con look at me….no look at me….hahaha

  45. FtBendConservative says:

so now HOS are gators what happened to the KKK?

do you juvenilem trolls need the attn this badly?

hahaha what a bunch of losers.

  46. patriot missive says:

Is there corruption in my HOA? …

    The structure itself is corrupt.

I was just at Brazos State Park and saw a gator take a duck. There was some commotion from the other ducks during the attack, but the other ducks settled down even before the gater finished swallowing the bird. This is exactly how we behave between attacks from our HOA. We could stop these attacks. We are not ducks. Conman the gatorman wants us to calm down and be glad that it was someone else, and not us, this time.

you’re right, maybe I’m being too subtle. Your group tries to turn every thread into a forum for off topics rants.

IT GETS OLD! CAN YOU TAKE IT ELSEWHERE? Does that help?

  49. cult_of_one says:

I’ve asked you this before ftbendconservative. If you are tired of listening to what you call 24/7 gritching, then why continue to participate in the gritching? Before you said you do it because you like it, but now you say you are tired of it. So which is it and why would you continue if you are so tired of it? I’m just very curious about your behavior in here.

  50. FtBendConservative says:
