Rosenberg’s annual holiday festival, Christmas in Rosenberg, will be held in the Historic Downtown District from 3-9 p.m. Dec. 5. There is no charge to attend the event.
Christmas in Rosenberg, a project of the Rosenberg Convention & Visitors Bureau Special Events Committee, will include traditional holiday entertainment, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus in Third Street Park, a carnival on the grounds of the Rosenberg Railroad Museum, Letters to Santa, gift and crafts vendors and a festival food court.
Entertainment will include Miss Jane’s students performing in front of the Rosenberg Music Store and a play, “The Christmas Dress,” performed by CAST Theatrical Company located at 1909 Avenue G. A main stage located at Avenue G at 3rd Street will host performances by the Hubenek Elementary Choir, Xtreme DANZ, Foster High School Varsity Choir, Huggins Elementary Choir, Forever Dance and the Briscoe Junior High Cheerleaders.
First Baptist-Rosenberg’s adult, youth, and hand bell choirs will perform throughout the day in Downtown Park on Avenue G, also the location of First Baptist’s live nativity. Downtown merchants will welcome Christmas shoppers and Rosenberg’s downtown eateries will be open for business throughout the event.
The festival also includes a Holiday Card art project to be displayed throughout the event. Five Lamar Consolidated Independent School District schools have committed to design and paint a holiday card which will be displayed during the event along 3rd Street. Those schools include: Bowie Elementary, Dickinson Elementary, Huggins Elementary, Meyer Elementary, and Smith Elementary. McCoy’s Building Supply in Rosenberg donated the plywood for the project.
Another new addition to the festival is a larger-than-life Christmas card to military personnel. Festival guests will have the opportunity to thank them for their sacrifices, their service to the country, and to send Christmas wishes. The Christmas Card to Military Personnel will be set in a prominent location within the event. Volunteers will be on hand to facilitate the card signing.
Corporations and individuals are invited to participate as a Star Sponsor of the annual event. For sponsor information call 832-595-3525. Sponsors contributing at least $250 will receive a commemorative Christmas in Rosenberg crystal star ornament.
General event information and vendor applications are available by calling 832-595-3525 or by visiting http://www.rosenbergevents.com/.
